Basement Universe: A small, a possible artificially created, universe linked to the old universe by a wormhole. This could be used for living space, computing, or an escape from a decaying universe. Also possibly used for hiding from enemies or destructive phenomina. A mega-engineering feat.

Battlejumpers: One of the more important Pact technical developments was the fusion room, which powered and moved a warship so effectively that half of a vessels' engines could be removed. This breakthrough made room for a 50% increase in defenses and weaponry aboard Pact warships but with the unfortunate result being that no warship could survive transit with the diminished engine rooms. The Pact Admiralty, which was at the time locked in a life-and-death struggle of the Twentieth Dionii Wave, found it imperative for its warships to continue packing a more powerful punch than their more numerous Dionii counterparts. Senior Technologist Marta MacGavin of Great Ships Corporation had by this time made a new development in warp point engines and they were quickly adapted and placed on "Battlejumpers", a long, spindly new form of warship. Using the new jump engines, Battlejumpers could materialize some distance away from a warp point(random) and deploy its piggy-backed warships into space, then jump back to the relative safety of Pact space using its warp point "funnel" engines. The only drawback to the use of Battlejumpers in combat is their random dispersal around a warp point, often resulting in long-running and unfortunately indecisive battles. Although Battlejumpers have only been tested recently for the first time, their piggy-backed warships seem very effective in battling Dionii forces. There are three different types of Battlejumpers now being produced, with the Type III being the largest vessels ever built by the Pact Navy.

Battlescreens: A unique forcefield technology, Battlescreens are a highly restricted technology that was developed by the Holot Empire early in its conflicts with the Pact. It is a  ‘hard screen technology’ that the Pact Navy has observed anf finally put into use several months ago. The ability to withstand moderate damage and stay online is one of Battlescreens more unique features, but once overwhelmed, it stays down several minutes(the difference between a ‘hard screen’ and regular shields is screens must be overwhelmed in one salvo, or it does no damage). Also, when a ‘hard screen’ is ‘up’, a warship cannot fire out through it. A vessel with Screens up cannot launch or recover fighters, bombers, or other small craft and point defense also cannot fire out.

Beanstalk: A strong cable lowered from geosynchronous orbit and anchored to the ground(often with a small asteroid at the outer end to provide extra tension and stability). This would provide cheap and simple access to space using elevators. The term beanstalk was spread by the role-playing game 2300AD by GDW.

Bellevue System Revolt: A serious Dolist revolt that challenged Pact government and Kona Tatsu control over people, this rebellion started in the Bellevue System over miners working condictions and rapidly spread to nearby worlds. As local governments lost control of the citizenry who began rampaging and looting, the military was called in. In spite of orders to disperse, the criminals and other social malcontents began attacking government centers and personnel on a dozen worlds. The military eventually surpressed the revolt, but at a unbelievable cost in civilian lives.

Berserker: Incredibly dangerous automated killing machines left over from some ancient war, usually found in orbit in the form of massive and unstoppable warships. Their only goal is the eradication of all life within the known galaxy. Usually a self-reproducing machine, Berserkers were mostly wiped out in Pact space during the Battle of Trannock Nor.

Biological Fundamentalism: A conservative religious movement that resists asexual reproduction, genetic engineering, altering the human anatomy, and overcoming death. A resistance movement born to counter the evolution from the human to the posthuman. Followers of God are usually biological fundamentalists, as are many other sects and small groups of Maronites.

Borganism: An organization of formerly autonomous beings that have merged their individual wills to create one, collectively conscious being. A highly dangerous group of individuals that routinely spring up within Pact space, the cause being unknown but quite possibly the perverted use of nanotechnology. The Builders are a borganism collective.
